It’s All About the Shoes
So I love shoes. That’s not an enormous surprise – most women would say the same, and most likely have a guilty stash of heels tucked away somewhere. I’m better than I used to be, I admit – moving from city to country has meant my heel-wearing moments are a little diminished (and my gravel drive makes walking a treacherous occupation).
However, my love for glamorous heels was such that when I was planning a move to Northampton a few years back, when I saw an advert for an apartment in a converted shoe factory, I absolutely had to have it at any cost. At that time, my shoe obsession was such that my entire bedroom floor was covered in the fancy little chaps.
Anyway – back to the present, and last week I had the fantastic opportunity to carry out some commercial photography in Cardiff -for household name Barratts Shoes, no less. It was one of those tickmarks in my life that gives a real sense of satisfaction. Before you ask, I didn’t dress my feet up for the job – location photography and heels don’t really mix, it’s fair to say.
Thanks to Stef Thomas of www.noredbraces.co.uk for the intro to Barratts – it’s a great all-round family store and their new shop layouts, branding and product lines are absolutely spot on. And the burning question I know you’ll be thinking – did I manage to leave without a purchase? Just about – but it was a close call and only borne out of my respect for my bank account…
